“If you don’t know what you’re doing, pray to the Father. He loves to help. You’ll get his help, and won’t be condescended to when you ask for it. Ask boldly, believingly, without a second thought. People who “worry their prayers” are like wind-whipped waves. Don’t think you’re going to get anything from the Master that way, adrift at sea, keeping all your options open.” [James 1:5-8 MSG]
Our prayer life is important. That should go without saying, but we always need to be reminded. One of the things I have found in my prayer life is, I tended to wanting to keep my options open. I prayed for help, for guidance, for a clear path, but when I did, I tried to control the outcome based on options that fit my wants. I found myself worrying about the outcome, and I wanted to control that outcome. It was only when I gave up my wants, and replaced them with the Divines needs for me, my community, my family, I found my prayer life opening to the power of the Divine, and it always worked out best for me, and others.
Our prayer life should focus on what the Divine thinks in right for us and for others. When we pray with focus, we will receive an answer.
